A student who has completed graduate courses while enrolled in another UBC department or another university, will have course requirements assessed on an individual basis by the Research Supervisor: Theses must meet these conditions before they are examined.
Members of the Thesis Committee must approve the research proposal. The Graduate Chair will circulate a memo to all Theatre Program Masters and Doctoral candidates requesting that they prepare for their annual review.
Although a full-time, senior member of faculty must chair each supervisory committee, the committee may include individuals who are not full-time faculty members. Note that the thesis must adhere to style guidelines set out by the Faculty of Graduate Studies. It is recommended that the student meet with their advisory committee to discuss the thesis after the final evaluation.
At least three weeks must be allowed for this review. When you submit the final version of your thesis you will be asked some questions to determine the appropriate Creative Commons licence. Other members of the Research Committee should be selected to supplement the expertise and experience of the Chair.
